Behind the swinging doors at Orbitzenplaycougar
Orbitzenplaycougar began with a simple frustration: most write-ups of browser role-playing games were either shallow lists or copies of the publishers’ own blurbs. We wanted something written by people who had actually lived in these worlds for weeks, who knew what the second month felt like and who would say plainly when a game stopped being fun.
Our focus is wild west and adventure role-players, the games where you start as a nobody on a hostile map and build a reputation slowly. The frontier is the heart of it, but we follow that same feeling into fantasy kingdoms and pirate seas when a game earns its place. Every title on the shelf was played from a fresh account.
We are a small team based in Britain, playing mostly in the evenings and on weekends, just as our readers do. That matters, because these games are designed around real lives, and judging them from a marathon testing session would miss how they actually feel across a normal week.
We update reviews when games change in ways that matter to newcomers, and we read every message readers send. If you think we have got something wrong, tell us. The frontier changes, and so should we.
Played properly, never skimmed
Every review comes from weeks of play on a new character, across busy evenings and quiet weekends. We write about what the game feels like in month two, not just the shiny first hour.
Facts we checked, opinions we own
Mechanics, classes and features are checked against the games themselves and their official pages. Where we cannot confirm a detail, we leave it out. Our opinions, though, are firmly ours, and we sign our name to them.
Fairness to the free rider
Every game here is free to start, and we judge each partly on how a patient player who spends nothing gets on. When the shop starts to press, we say so plainly in the review and in the score.
